Early C19th engraving of the Black Swan.
One of only a handful of nineteenth century lithographs of the Black Swan which was first recorded on 5th July 1636 by the Dutch sailor Antonie Caen in the ship Banda and makes what is believed to be the first sighting of black swans by Europeans on the south-west coast of Australia near Bernier Island.
