Description
Catalogue of an exhibition of Australian paintings that toured New Zealand in 1964. For, as Daryl Lindsay says in his introduction, “. Late last year, the Commonwealth Art Advisory Board gladly accepted an invitation from the New Zealand Government to mount a collection of Australian paintings for exhibition at the 1964 Festival of Auckland, to be followed by a tour of many of the main centres in New Zealand. This exhibition, which has been made possible by the generosity of the Australian State Gallery authorities and very many private collectors, is the result. We hope that it will show something of the development of Australian Art from the first settlement through to the present time.” Softcover with dust jacket illustrated with eight pages of black and white reproductions of artwork.
