A nineteenth century engraving depicting a view of the Rhine Valley and the commanding medieval Marksburg Castle built in the twelve to thirteenth centuries.
Within this UNESCO World Heritage Site of the Upper Middle Rhine Valley it is the only hilltop castle along the Rhine which has never been destroyed.
