Description

Famous engraving by Conrad Martens (1801-1878), speared in the lungs at Point Pearce in December 1839 while discovering the Victoria River during the 3rd expedition of the Beagle, 1837-1843.

Point Pearce is situated near the mouth of the Victoria River, south-west of Darwin.
