Very rare and important c.18th map of Australia based on Cook’s first voyage observations and one of only a handful of maps to be solely devoted to the Australia continent.
A magnificent example with full uncut margins and unfaded original hand colouring.
Second state of this map identified by the addition to the abbreviation of the word, Calcog to Calcografia below the title.
At top left there is a decorative title cartouche with ships and natives.
