Scarce c.18th German double hemisphere world map with extensive information contained into two tables and a description at lower section of the map.
Australia is curiously depicted with a strange misshaped east coast containing place names from Cook’s discoveries made on his first voyage in 1669-1770. The Great Lakes are shown as one large body of water and California is strangely shaped. Australia includes several place names on the eastern coast, which resulted from Cook’s discoveries in 1770. The tracks of Goree’s voyage in 1780, Clerke’s Voyage in 1779, and Cook’s voyage in 1777-78.
