Finely engraved, large scale chart of Tonga from one the great French voyages of exploration and scientific discovery under the Restoration and the July Monarchy under the command of Dumont D’Urville in the Astrolabe.

D’Urville charted over 120 islands during his visit to Tonga and Fiji during April and May 1827. The map records the tracks of the Astrolabe 1827 , Cook in 1777 and d’Entrecasteaux in 1793.
