Description
Rare and finely engraved map of New South Wales extending from Broken Bay to the Five Islands in the south by Louis Claude Freycinet commander of Uranie which sailed from Toulon on a voyage of exploration and discovery. Freycinet who was one of the cartographers on the ill fated voyage of the Naturalist and Geographe under the command of Nicholas Baudin which had explored much of the Australian coast. Freycinet visited, Western Australia, New South Wales and a number of Pacific islands which resulted in some of the finest maps and prints of the region.
