Very detailed large scale map of South Australia divided into hundreds and showing the agricultural areas. In this map, the ‘southern portion‘, refers to the fact that in 1863 the northern portion of Australia that later became known as the Northern Territory, was annexed to the colony of South Australia. In January 1911 it was transferred to the Commonwealth.
