Description
Rare early map of Corner Inlet and Welshpool, Victoria showing the entrance to the town. The town is shown with eleven allotments and the jetty, with adjoining area for ‘Yards for shipping Cattle’. The town was had only been gazetted as Welshpool in 1851 and settlement and trading had begun almost immediately. In 1859 an 800 foot jetty was constructed but burned down soon afterwards.
