C.17th engraving of the Temples of Vesta and Sybil on the ancient acropolis of Tivoli. Dating to the early 1st century BC. Their ruins sit on the acropolis of the city, overlooking the falls of the Aniene that are now in the Villa Gregoriana. The Temples of Vesta and Sibyl have become the most painted subject by Italian and foreign artists over the centuries.
