Description

Scarce engraving depicting the Barwon stranded at Queenscliff, 1866 June 24th, when outward for Newcastle and in July abandoned to the underwriters. The ship was sold to S.G. Henty who salvaged the vessel, refloating her (1866 Dec,23), and she steamed to Melbourne without assistance.
