First edition of this superb Chine-collé lithograph on India paper of Pieter Both mountain, Mauritius taken from Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam Botanical Gardens which were previously known Jardin de Mon Plaisiras , by Louis de Sainson artist aboard the famous Dumon’t D’Urville voyage of scientific discovery and exploration.

The rare first issue is identified by the name J.Tastu, Editeur at lower left and the embossed stamp at lower sheet edge, ‘Voyage de L’Astrolabe J.Dumont D’Urville Commandant. J.T.’
