C.18th engraved view at Chora on the island of Skyros, Greece looking towards the Byzantine Monastery of Saint George. The monastery was founded in AD 962 by Saint Athanasius the Athonite. The view is from one of the most celebrated of all the published works on Greece which established the model for later publications of Voyages pittoresques.
