Description
Early painting of the Hayward Ranges, in the Flinders Ranges, South Australia by Travis Webber influenced by the trips of Hans Heysen and Frederick Allen Joyner to the area.
There are two specific images made around the same time of the scene; one a painting by Hans Heysen and the other a photograph titled, A Washout, Hayward Range, by the pioneering and influential photographer, Frederick Allen Joyner (1863-1945).
In 1927 Heysen and Joyner visited the Flinders Ranges and both were inspired by the light and grandeur of the area.
